The words "arable" and "farming", when rolled together into the heartless phrase "arable farming" have long been known as a cause of upset, tedium and frustration, especially in the afternoons. The lumpy shape the phrase "arable farming" makes in the mouth of a teenage boy can be a cause of lasting trauma. Experts have compared the effect to rolling a large, ugly potato behind the gums of a tear-stained, pubescent face.
