Celebrity
From Wretchopedia
A symptom of a society failed, broken, wretched.

[edit] Terrible
Why is it that people flock to these wretches? Talentless, pointless, weak. Often textbook cases of psychiatric illnesses, celebrities appear all over our newspapers daily, and as often as once a nanosecond on our TV screens. They are invariably lit with the 'best' TV lighting that money can buy. There was a time that fame came as a result of being good at something, bringing a measurable contribution to society. This has been displaced with people who have a pathological lack of talent, and become famous simply for being famous.
[edit] Ex talent
There is a kind of sub-genre of this 'profession'. Those who once had talent, but it has passed away long ago, so they have resorted to 'fame' as a crutch - a cry for validation in their new found failure.
[edit] Unloved
Unloved by their parents, their only source of self value comes from constant reassurance from others that they are interesting. But this 'reassurance' is only perceived via the metaphoric flashing of camera bulbs, appearances in gossip columns, and publicist created 'scandals'. Things that in themselves have no inherent value, except to point the eyes of the world momentarily at these clowns.
